Job Description

Job Summary:

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides skilled nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. This role involves patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care. The ER RN will work 36 hours per week on 12-hour shifts and participate in call duties. Prior travel nursing experience and familiarity with EMR systems such as Meditech 6.0 are preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient status in the emergency room.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide emergency care and respond effectively to critical situations.
• Document patient care accurately using electronic medical records (preferably Meditech 6.0).
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and communicate patient progress.
• Take call shifts as assigned, providing coverage for 24-hour periods.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Arizona.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in emergency or critical care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
• Experience with electronic medical records, preferably Meditech 6.0.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC.
• Experience working in a regional medical center or similar healthcare facility.
• Familiarity with emergency room protocols and procedures.

Special Considerations:

• Must be willing to take call shifts lasting 24 hours.
• Work environment is an emergency department requiring quick decision-making and adaptability.
• Assignment duration is approximately 13 weeks.

Scheduling:

• 36 hours per week, scheduled as three 12-hour shifts from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
• Call shifts are assigned in addition to regular hours and require 24-hour availability.
